Until a few short weeks ago, Zeva was wandering the streets of Detroit alone, cold and hungry
While this year has already been unforgettable, we need you to make sure 2012 is even better for animals like Zeva, who until a few short weeks ago was wandering the streets of Detroit alone, cold and hungry.
A kind passerby brought her to MHS, but by that time, she was so emaciated and weak, her body had deteriorated to the point that she could no longer stand to put her weight on her paws. Instead, she was trying to get around by gingerly putting her weight on her wrists. Every single step on the cold concrete of the city must have been torture for this baby shepherd mix.
We gave her a warm bed and nourishing food, and before long, Zeva was up and around and back to standing on her paws again – a little awkward at first, but that’s to be expected after what she’s been through! But she’s not out of the woods yet. Zeva’s been through a lot, and she’s still got a long ways to go.
You can help Zeva and other animals like her right now by making your tax-deductible gift to MHS.
As we turn the page on 2011, we want to thank you for making this year one to remember, filled with hope, happiness, and new beginnings for thousands of homeless animals! Without you, we wouldn’t be able to care for the tens of thousands of animals who depend on us every year. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Believe you can make 2012 a better year for animals in need. Believe you can make a difference. Please, give the gift of hope today.
