Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo
Hundreds of adoptable animals will be looking for a best friend

Friday & Saturday
September 19 & 20, 2014
Fri.: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Sat.: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Detroit Zoo, Royal Oak

The Michigan Humane Society and the Detroit Zoological Society will host our annual Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo  adoption event from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, at the Detroit Zoo.

Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo!Hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available for adoption from MHS and nearly 40 additional animal welfare organizations!

There is no charge for admission or parking for the adoption event. Regular admission and parking fees apply for those visiting the Zoo.

Since puppies often are in high demand, on Friday and Saturday, “puppy passes” will be distributed to the first 25 guests or families each day who are specifically seeking a puppy, allowing them to enter the event 15 minutes early.

Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo!Adoption fees and policies are set by each participating group and not by event hosts or sponsors. Animals will be adopted only to qualified homes.

Adopters must present a valid driver’s license or state ID card. All dogs and cats will have received a medical check-up and age-appropriate vaccinations.

For health and safety reasons, please leave current companion animals at home.

Our thanks to the corporate sponsors who help make this event possible and for the community’s support in adopting more than 20,000 pets – that is, furry best friends – at the event since 1993!
